(DAIC)-The Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC) is pleased that the Government of Dominica has lifted restrictions on business hours, fostering a quicker recovery of our economy.
This removal of restrictions came into effect on October 29, 2021 subsequent to the Cabinetโs approval of further amendments to the Environmental Health Services (COVID-19) Regulations S.R. & O. 26 of 2021. These amendments were enabled in large part by the commitment of our Government, Health Care workers, Business Community, and citizens to reducing the spread of Covid-19 by strictly adhering to health protocols. The DAIC extends its gratitude to the general public, and the business community for their contributions in this regard.
The DAIC also commends the business community for their agility in responding to the challenges posed by this current environment, significant of which has been maintaining a safe working environment and a healthy and productive workforce. We strongly encourage employers to implement internal policies that mitigate adverse impacts on the workplace and workforce through vaccination and rigorous testing regiments.
The DAIC will continue its partnership and dialogue with the Government to advance measures that will reduce the impact of COVID-19 on the business sector and country by extension. Meanwhile, we join the Ministry of Health, Wellness & New Health Investments in imploring the business community and the general public to maintain the health and safety guidelines that have been stipulated by the Government as we collectively strive toward the full re-opening and advancement of the economy.
