(OPM)- Dominica will celebrate 43 years of Independence with the National Day Observance Ceremony on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 3p.m. at the State House Conference Center.
This year’s Independence is being observed under the theme,’ United in Purpose, Our Health, Our Heritage, Our Future.’
Prime Minister, Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit will deliver the Address to the Nation and President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, His Excellency Charles A. Savarin D.A.H, will present Meritorious Awards to individuals and groups. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will, this year, receive Dominica’s highest award, the Dominica Award of Honour.
Her Excellency Mrs. Loreen Bannis Roberts, Mr. Paul Ainsley Green and the Maria Holder Memorial Trust will receive the Sisserou Award of Honour.
Mrs. Rosemund Edwards, Mrs. Regina Joseph, Mr. Hasselt Williams, Mr. Richard Letang and the COVID-19 Response Team, including the Health Team, Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, Fire and Ambulance Services, the Dominica Air & Seaport Authority (DASPA) and the Customs and Excise Division, will receive the Meritorious Service Award.
Mr. Kelvin Francis, Mrs. Loranna Jno Baptiste, Mr. Oliver St. John, and Mr. Peterson Bardouille will receive the Services Medal of Honour; and Mrs. Veronica Cuffy, Mr. Anthony Richards, Mr. Vivian Thomas and Mr. Charles Richards will receive the Long Service Award.
Dominicans, at home and abroad, are invited to follow the broadcast of the National Day Observance Ceremony via the Government Information Service (GIS), the Government of Dominica YouTube channel, Government social media platforms and DBS Radio.
