Virtual LAUNCH of REGIONAL REPORT on “Migration, Environment, Disasters and Climate Change Data in the OECS”

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office will host the Regional Conference on Human Mobility and Climate Change Data in the Eastern Caribbean from Monday 4th to Wednesday 6th October 2021.  The Conference will engage high-level officials from the six independent Member States of the OECS (Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, Grenda, St Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia, and St Vincent & the Grenadines) to discuss and examine the new IOM regional report: “Migration, Environment, Disasters and Climate Change Data in the Eastern Caribbean” .     

Timely and reliable data are essential for informed decision-making and planning towards sustainable development and climate resilience across the region. As disseminators of information to a wide cross-section of the persons that IOM seeks to inform and impact, we invite you to the Launch of the Regional Report: “Migration, Environment, Disasters and Climate Change Data in the Eastern Caribbean”, and the Opening Ceremony of the Regional Dialogue, which takes place on Monday 4th October 2021, from 9:00 am – 11:10 am Eastern Caribbean Time (GMT-4) via ZOOM. 

The Agenda as well as background information on the Regional Dialogue to Address Human Mobility and Climate Change Adaptation in the Eastern Caribbean project, which proposes to enhance governments’ capacities to collect, analyse and utilize data on human mobility and vulnerability derived from environmental change, have been attached.
