Dominica State College- (August 27, 2021) Stock Farm, Roseau– The Dominica State College announced that due to a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in Dominica, there would be a delay in the reopening of the College, and classes will be delivered online in the first instance.
The College seeks to effectively provide a smooth transition for students, lecturers, and staff so that they will experience the safest and least disruptive mode of learning during the beginning of the academic year. Hence, the College will temporarily limit access to on-campus instruction for the first four weeks of school- September 6, 2021, to September 30, 2021. Following the first four weeks, the delivery mode will depend on the COVID-19 situation in the country and guidance by the health authorities.
A learning device and access to the internet are essential for the success of online learning. Students are encouraged to seek out learning devices and access to the internet from the first day of instruction, September 6, 2021. Students without internet connection can access the College’s Computer Labs and WIFI. A sign-up sheet will be created for booking. Additionally, students can benefit from the arrangements currently being made with the Ministry of Education with the cooperation from public schools around the country.
The College looks forward to a smooth, online start to the academic year, from September 6, 2021.
