Minister with the responsibility for Health in Dominica, Hon. Irving McIntyre confirmed that the country has recorded two additional cases of COVID-19. One individual was a transit passenger while the other was at a hotel. Dr. McIntyre also confirmed that there is no evidence of community spread on the island.
He said, “At the moment, we have thirty active cases today November 10, as it relates to our community screening that we’ve been doing to have an assessment of our status in the community, we’ve completed Grandbay, Laplaine and Portsmouth Health districts… we got no positive cases”.
The Minister also revealed that plans to retrofit a new quarantine facility in Portsmouth is expected to be completed by December. He said that this is to ensure that persons are comfortable so that they may be more compliant to rules and regulations while in quarantine.
He urges Dominicans to continue following the protocols so as to safeguard their health.
