Acting Police Chief Lincoln Corbette announced that a number of police officers have been promoted.
He said, “The Police Service Commission met recently and promoted 10 officers from the rank of ACP to Sergeant of Police”. Among the promotions were Davidson Valerie,
Assistant Commissioner of Police(ACP), Matthew Cuffy Superintendent of Police and ASP, Assistant Superintendent of Police Anthony Lawrence, John Nelson Charles and Derrick St.Rose as Police Inspectors and Sergeants are Leoma Joseph, Frank Commodore and Officers Francis, Francois and Vigilant. Among the ten constables confirmed as corporals are two women in the persons of Berry Blondel, and Clyne Prevost.
Leoma Jospeh said that she is certain her appointment has nothing to do with preference but was as a result of her 19 years of hard work and service.
Meanwhile, Police Chief Ag Lincoln Corbette had words of praise for Matthew Cuffy saying that it would have been ‘an injustice if he was not promoted to the rank of superintendent; he is a hardworking and well-respected police officer – a role model’ and Anthony Lawrence, who he says is “a no-nonsense and also a go-getter, they are well deserved”.
