“Two students who sat this year’s G6NA exams will receive primary to secondary school grants from a local insurance advisor within Sagicor Dominica.
Local Insurance Advisor, Lenny Dover who has worked with Sagicor Dominica for the past eight (8) years has decided to award D’quan Williams and Caleb Daniel with these grants.
According to Dover, this grant is geared towards students who have obtained passes at the 2020, grade 6 national assessments.
“Though they did not meet the qualifications for higher awards, does not make them any less than the others and it’s something that I want to remind them off. I too obtained a pass from what was then called common entrance examinations, but I did not let this stop me from looking ahead. Like my manager always says to us, “It’s not where you came from, but it’s where you’re going.”
In the past eight years with Sagicor Dominica, Dover spent six years working in the administrative department and the last two years as a financial advisor. He has since been awarded Top financial advisor of the year 2019 and advisor of the month for the last two months, June & July.
The young and energetic financial advisor says the grants are just a way of giving back.
“This gesture is also a way of me giving back to my clients. For the past two months, I have received the award for top advisor of the month for Dominica and I could not have done it without them. When I look at how hard these uncertain times are on everyone, I just want to lend a helping hand and I chose to do it this way.”
“This may just be the beginning of something new and by the grace of God, I’ll be able to assist others as the years pass by.”
The grants were handed out to the parents/guardians, along with the students, on Thursday 20th, August 2020.
