According to National Epidemiologist, Dr. Shaluddin Ahmed, there is 1 more confirmed case in Dominica which brings the total number of confirmed cases to 19.
The individual is a British national who arrived on island on August 10. While on island, the individual had been on home quarantine for the most part, says Dr. Ahmed.
The said individual had presented two negative PCR test before arrival and had been asymptomatic and continues to be asymptomatic.He was admitted to the COVID-19 hospital and Contact Tracing has begun.
Dr. Ahmed concluded by saying, “The dreaded COVID is back. Let’s keep fighting against COVID. Let’s get back to wearing off masks when we are in public places. We can’t keep our country under lockdown, we must allow normal activities to continue”.
