Triple Doctorate Among UWI Dominica Staff
The staff at the University of the West Indies(UWI), Dominica campus is truly leading by example. Among them are three distinguished individuals who were the recipients of Doctoral degrees earlier this year.
The only male among the three, Dr. Barry Casimir was awarded the  Doctor of Educational Leadership in Higher Education,along with Dr. Kimone Joseph while Dr. Jean Thomas-Jeremy was awarded her degree in Education Systems and Schools.
Dr. Casimir successfully defended his thesis which aimed to explore equity of access into higher education in Dominica based on one’s socioeconomic background.
Dr. Jeremy, a former teacher and principal, researched student performance in CSEC Mathematics at public and private schools, while Dr. Joseph, Head of UWI Dominica, lecturer and former primary school teacher, looked at the first year student retention in online undergraduate programmes in Dominica.
