The first group of cruise ship workers have returned to Dominica.Cruise ship workers had been expressing concerns over their situation since the COVID-19 pandemic and the Government of Dominica promised to assist.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Dominica Air and Seaport Authority (DASPA), Benoit Bardouillle said,
“I can confirm that the MV Glory has docked in Portsmouth and has brought in 17 crew to Dominica”.
According to him they will be quarantined in Portsmouth for 14 days before they are allowed to return to their homes.
Carnival Cruise Lines is in the process of working out the logistics to ensure that crew members from over 60 countries all over the world get home safely.
