Police says Easter Weekend Was Noticeably Quiet

Head of the Criminal Investigations Department, Superintendent Davidson Valerie, commended the Dominican public for their cooperation with respect to the curfew which has instituted a total lockdown on weekends.

He said that the Easter weekend, which is usually a time when Dominicans flock to the beaches and rivers, was ‘noticeably quiet and void of the usual activities’.

Valerie reminded the public that the curfew order continues until May 11 and that according to the order persons are not allowed on the streets between the hours of 6:00pm and 6:00am the following day during the week and that there is a total lockdown on weekends.
