 New Traffic Measures For Roseau

 New Traffic Measures For Roseau
The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) will soon implement new traffic regulations throughout the city of Roseau.

Police Chief Daniel Carbon said, “We will be moving very quickly to ensure that parking will be permitted on one side of the street in certain streets in the city of Roseau. Hillsborough Street is a very narrow street and Hillsborough Street cannot accommodate parking on both sides of the street and so we will be demarcating one side of that street only for parking the other side will be for no parking. We’re  going to put up signs, keep clear signs on the southern side of Hillsborough Street, the entire length of that street… and so I am pleading with the general public to cooperate with the police”.

Other streets to be targeted are Hanover Street and King George V Street.

According to Carbon the new measures are intended to alleviate traffic congestion in the city

Parking gets insane when our Roseau WEST Roads are closed off for Cruise ship leisure visitors and Taxi Operators that stifles our inner city road traffic flow out, in, and worst through. KFC drive through backs up traffic all the way to river street beyond all saints university above Great George Street. Buses insist on leisurely standing off traffic especially during rush hours, stopping main street letting off passengers, giving them change, and waiting for all to disembark before unblocking traffic and driving off. Wood-bridge bay creates a traffic hazard in-front the port backing up traffic all the way standstill to massacre. That’s my two cents input. Thanks for asking.
