Tourism Minister Hon.Denise Charles told stakeholders that a new draft master plan is key for the growth of tourism in Dominica over the next 10 years.
She said, “Today’s gathering is critical as to how we approach the development of this vital industry. The draft Master Plan proposes the tools, instruments and guidelines to effect changes, make adjustments and organize and manage this critical industry”.
Charles remarked that while many question the need for another Master plan, “The reality is Tourism industry is complex, fast changing and dynamic. It requires a destination to be on top of its game. Therefore we must be prepared to respond to changing consumer demands and taste as well as the growing and complex nature of one of the world’s growing and most important industries”.
The Minister made these statements at a national consultation at Fort Young Hotel on Thursday.
