ACL And UKAID Partner To Train Youth

The Achievement Learning Center under the directorate of Beverly Leblanc will host training seminars all over the island in the coming months.

The seminar sponsored by UKAID seeks to train about 550 young persons between the ages of 15 – 30 years. On completion of the training, participants will be awarded a level 1 employability skills certificate from a United Kingdom employing body.

Leblanc says that many times employers complain that young employees do not have the necessary work ethic to excel on the job. Therefore the main purpose of the training is to equip youth with the employable skills needed so that whatever job they are able to get, whether it is a store clerk at a Chinese store, they will be able to satisfy their employers expectations and give customers excellent service.

The training will target disadvantaged youth as well as persons with disabilities.
