The Child Abuse Prevention Unit has revealed that there was a decline in reported cases of child abuse for Dominica in 2019.
Acting Coordinator of the Child Abuse Prevention Unit, Nicole Toussaint Jno Baptiste said that there were less reported cases of all forms of abuse of children. The statistics show just over 100 cases of child abuse for the year 2019, while 2018 had a total of 111 and 2017 had a total of 153.
She said that while the records show a decline, there could be different meanings to the statistics.
