Shihan Shannah Robin who is owner of and instructor at Universal Martial Arts studio in Dominica has been awarded the 2020 Distinguished Renowned Martial Arts Award by the Action Martial Arts Magazine and Hall of Honor.
Robin says, “To be in the presence of all the legends, ones that I dreamt of all my life. To see all these big guys on the screen and now being in their presence, shaking their hands and taking pictures to the point where I was the pad holder for Michael Jai White in his seminar, I mean that’s beyond words. Classifying this as an honour to be inducted in the biggest martial arts hall of fame located in Atlantic City”.
Last year Universal Martial Arts studio held a rigorous Black Belt Testing which saw over 40 students wow examiners.
Robin holds a 7th degree black belt and is the first Dominican to create his own martial arts style (the Robin RYU System) which is recognized in the Caribbean, the United States, Canada and China.
