Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit says that there will be changes made in the manner in which scholarships are granted for studies abroad.
He says, ” …We’re gonna start come September to align the provision of scholarships and grants to students to our national priorities because we are spending an inordinate amount of money on University education, which is fine…, but we’re gonna have to ensure that when we send you to study, you study what the country really needs at any particular time”.
Skerrit says that this change will help the students who are not being advised properly “and so they study things that already too many people have the qualifications for”.
Skerrit says that this causes frustration among the youth who are unable to get a job to suit their qualifications.
