A historic Black Belt Testing Exam was completed on the island recently. The students who were tested on mental strength, physical abilities and willingness to achieve their goals showed unbelievable courage.
Shannah Robin says, “I have been teaching Martial Arts for over 20 years and I believe that this is one of the hardest karate exams ever held in Dominica. The standard was second to none. The students practice their integrity by not giving up no matter what was thrown at them.”
Robin highlighted a few of the incredible students who participated in the event.”We had a 7-year-old little girl with food poisoning who refused to quit. A gentleman who cut his hand two days before and receiving 19 stitches but who still took part. A boy with a damaged knee who said ‘I can do it’ and he did.”

Robin remarked that he is proud of all the 41 students who showed up and did the work, who overcame challenges and did not give up and who were victorious in the end. She said that the students took part in a Canadian exam over two weeks ago and also did very well.
Robin thanks Instructors Larry and Jodie for their hard work. Also, the parents who entrusted their children to her care. He promises to continue to be a positive role model for every student and to keep growing forward.
