The Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce on Wednesday held a workshop in collaboration with the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE), under the theme, ‘Fundinh fir Strategic Growth’.
The purpose of the workshop was to explore the possibility of local businesses going public and listing on the Exchange. Managing Director of the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange, Trevor Blake said that only thirteen companies across the currency union are presently listed on the exchange and many of them do not use the exchange to raise capital.
Blake said that it is the purpose of the ECSE to enable the peoples of the region to create wealth, and for companies to be able to issue securities to raise capital for their development and continued growth. Blake encouraged the companies present to list on the exchange in order to access opportunities for growth.
