BASSETERRE, St Kitts – An urgent statement from Swissx in relation to the arrest of Alki David, owner of Swissx, by the anti-narcotics unit of the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) at RLB International Airport May 9, 2019, said “current tensions risk the nation’s chance at leading a multi-billion-dollar industry” and “$100 million in lawsuits to be filed against [Harris] the government of St Kitts and Nevis this week.”
According to 2018’s The Sunday Times rich list, David, a Greek billionaire and heir to the Coca-Cola fortune is independently worth more than $2.8 billion. His Swissx company, a medical marijuana company produces luxury CBD oils. His hologram company was responsible for digitally recreating Tupac in 2012 for Coachella performances and Michael Jackson for the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. He resides on the Isle of Man.
The statement released Monday continued: “We’ve have met with Prime Minister [Timothy] Harris to talk about coordinating support efforts before we leave next week for meetings in Dominica and other Caribbean island nations that have shown great interest in our cooperative partnership. Those talks have broken down and led to the arrests of David and Ergen. David and Ergen’s legal team [has] arrived from the UK and will be filing lawsuits against Prime Minister Harris and the government this week.”
Meanwhile, the regulatory framework for the CBD industry is going through parliament, David asked, “When will the politicians pass the Cannabis Bill of 2019 under a parliamentary procedure requiring a second and third reading to free its citizens of this decades-long failed prohibition?”
