A remarkable journey of perseverance, dedication, and lifelong learning has reached another significant milestone as Nurse Kate Zenita Lee Alexander proudly graduates with a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Western Governors University.
Originally from Backstreet, Grand Bay, Dominica, her educational journey began at Wesley High School before she answered the call to serve her community as a teacher at Tete Morne Primary School. Her passion for helping others eventually led her beyond the shores of Dominica, first to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and later to the mainland United States in pursuit of greater educational and professional opportunities.
Her healthcare career began humbly as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in St. Thomas, where she developed a deep appreciation for compassionate patient care. Determined to continue advancing her knowledge and skills, she earned an Associate Degree as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, further specializing in Lymphedema Therapy. Never one to stop learning, she continued her academic journey by obtaining her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Registered Nurse licensure. She is also the author of two children books, ‘Once Upon a Time in Dominica’ and ‘ A Fight to Freedom’.
Today, she adds yet another impressive achievement to her distinguished career with the completion of her Master of Science in Nursing Education, positioning her to educate, mentor, and inspire the next generation of nurses. Her accomplishment reflects not only academic excellence but also an unwavering commitment to advancing the nursing profession and improving patient care through education.
Zenita’s story serves as an inspiration to young people throughout Dominica and the Caribbean, demonstrating that with determination, resilience, and hard work, humble beginnings can lead to extraordinary achievements. Her journey from the classrooms of Dominica to earning a graduate nursing degree in the United States exemplifies the transformative power of education and the limitless possibilities available to those who refuse to give up on their dreams.
As she embarks on this new chapter, family, friends, colleagues, and her communities in Dominica, St. Thomas, and the United States proudly celebrate her accomplishments and look forward to the lasting impact she will continue to make as a nurse, educator, mentor, and healthcare leader.
Congratulations, Zenita on this outstanding achievement. Your dedication to education, service, and excellence continues to inspire us all.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
