Grenada Launches CXC Workshops to Prepare Teachers for Revised CPEA

The Grenada Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC), has launched a series of orientation workshops to prepare educators for the implementation of the revised Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA) programme.

The initiative began with a preparatory meeting held on Monday, July 13, at the Grenada Cricket Stadium, where officers from the Ministry’s Curriculum Unit, Testing and Examination Unit, School Administration and Management Unit (SAMU), and the Special and Inclusive Education Unit (SIEN) received training to support the successful rollout of the revised programme.

Teacher orientation workshops are being held from July 14 to 17, focusing on the updated CPEA framework, standards-based teaching, assessment practices, project and writing portfolio assessment, can-do skills, teacher-made tests, and revisions to the CPEA Administration Guide.

Participants are also taking part in practical exercises, collaborative discussions, and question-and-answer sessions designed to strengthen their understanding and implementation of the revised assessment programme.

The workshops are being facilitated by a team of experienced professionals from the Caribbean Examinations Council Professional Learning Institute, including Mrs. Gennette Clacken, Mrs. Latoya Wedderburn Rose, and Mrs. Norlette Leslie-Yearde.

The Ministry of Education says the training forms part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening the implementation of the Digital Harmonised Primary Curriculum while equipping teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
