Grenada and Sweden have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations and expanding cooperation in several key areas following a courtesy meeting between Prime Minister Hon. Dickon Mitchell and Ambassador Velasco on the sidelines of the Grenada Diaspora Homecoming.
The discussions focused on a wide range of issues, including climate resilience, sustainable development, education and workforce development, regional security, developments in Haiti, migration, and opportunities for increased technical cooperation and investment.
A key topic of the meeting was the growing challenge of sargassum seaweed, with both officials exploring innovative approaches to its management, including circular economy initiatives that could convert the environmental challenge into renewable energy and other economic opportunities.
