Three Dominican professionals have successfully completed a two-week training programme in Beijing, China, aimed at strengthening capacity in climate diplomacy and global governance.
The Seminar on Capacity Building in Climate Diplomacy and Global Governance, held from June 18 to July 1, brought together participants from more than 12 countries, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and international collaboration on climate policy and sustainable development.
Representing Dominica were Project Officer Liam Sebastien, Assistant Forest Officer Josh Baron, and Forester II Eddma Wiltshere.
The programme combined classroom sessions with field visits, giving participants firsthand exposure to China’s policies, strategies, and practical approaches to climate governance, environmental management, and sustainable development.
The Ministry praised the officers for successfully completing the programme, noting that the knowledge and experience gained will help strengthen Dominica’s capacity to address climate and environmental challenges through international cooperation and the sharing of best practices.
