Dominica was represented at the regional workshop, “Prosperity on Our Terms: A Caribbean Agenda for Climate Finance Access and Loss and Damage,” held in Barbados from May 28–29, 2026.
Representing the country were Daniel Pemberton, Lisana Dyer, and Liam Sebastien, who joined delegates from across the Caribbean in discussions aimed at improving access to climate finance and advancing solutions to address loss and damage caused by climate change.
The workshop, organized by the Climate Vulnerable Forum, brought together representatives from climate-vulnerable nations to help shape a stronger and more equitable climate finance agenda that reflects the unique realities and priorities of developing countries.
Participants explored strategies to secure greater financial support for climate adaptation and resilience initiatives while advocating for fair and accessible funding mechanisms for nations disproportionately affected by climate change.
As one of the world’s leading climate-resilient nations, Dominica continues to play an active role in regional and international climate discussions. The country’s participation underscores its commitment to advocating for increased support, stronger partnerships, and innovative financing solutions to help protect communities, ecosystems, and livelihoods from the growing impacts of climate change.
Officials say engagements such as this workshop are critical in ensuring that Caribbean voices remain at the forefront of global climate finance discussions and that vulnerable nations receive the resources needed to build resilience and pursue sustainable development.
Dominica remains steadfast in its vision of becoming the world’s first climate-resilient nation while continuing to champion the interests of Small Island Developing States on the international stage.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
