St. Joseph’s Academy has successfully defended its title in the Caribbean Union Bank Inter-Secondary School Debate Series and Impromptu Speaking Competition, following an impressive performance in the championship final held yesterday at the UWI Five Islands Campus in Antigua.
The competition began with sixteen secondary schools from across the country and culminated in a highly anticipated final showdown between St. Joseph’s Academy and Sir Novelle Richards Academy.
St. Joseph’s Academy emerged victorious, once again claiming the championship trophy after demonstrating consistency, strong critical thinking, and exceptional debating skills throughout the season.
Sir Novelle Richards Academy also received high praise for its outstanding performance, having advanced through the competition and delivering a strong challenge in the final round.
Organizers commended both schools for exemplifying excellence, discipline, and the true spirit of debate, highlighting the depth of talent and leadership potential among the nation’s youth.
The competition continues to serve as an important platform for developing public speaking, critical thinking, and communication skills among secondary school students while fostering healthy academic competition.
