Death Announcement of Joan Casimir, age 74, better known as “Ta Doan” or “Rio” of Dublanc, who resided in Martinique.

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Joan Casimir, age 74, better known as “Ta Doan” or “Rio” of Dublanc, who resided in Martinique.

She leaves to mourn her children: Veronique Jubenot, Cheryl Jubenot, Ezra Pierre-Louis, Curt Gabriel, Tamara Joseph, Lydia Joseph and Dean Larocque.

Adopted children: Caryl Casimir, Dave Darroux and Giselle Scotland.

17 grandchildren, including: Natalie, Kimisha, Michael, Saheed, Chrisford, Bridgette, Chantal, Giselle, Judicka, Culissa, Lisette, Kaylia, Mackesha, Rosheed, Tatiana, Amber and Jamalik.

14 great-grandchildren, including Jade, Donovan, Oceane, Tahaila, Shelby, Daniel, Matis, Mathias, Jamalio, Jahyani, Ciara, Dahlia, Kayden, Kayomi and Kaiser.

5 Brothers: Glenroy, Atley, Addison, Howard and Lloyd.

6 Sister: Vileen, Elaine, Etheline, Ruthela, Claron, Mavis and Eugenia.

1 Brother-in-law: Linel

1 Son in law: Soer Kodan

1 daughter in law: Vernice Joseph

3 Aunts: Gertrude, Iyna and Daphne

3 Uncles: Cummings, Calibo and Kaykie.

51 Nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

73 Grand nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention.

Special friends and families: Aunty Joan, Aunty Irma, Rosilia, Myrtle, Roy, Thomas Daley, Russel, Clavia, Rhona, Anestazie, Thora, Celement and Magdalene, Verney, Kirby and Anson. Angie, Ma Bertello and Catherine in Martinique.

She will also fondly be remembered by the Casimir family, Shillingford family, Bertrand family, the Thomas family in Concorde and Marigot and Victor family. Nurse Beinter Benjamin, Nurse Smith of the Glover ward, Dr. Samuel Sherma and Ruthine. Many other relatives and friends are too numerous to mention.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of the people of Dublanc, Bioche and all who knew and loved her.

Her funeral mass will take place on Saturday, 30th May 2026 at the Miraculous infant Jesus Chapel in Dublanc.
