CARICOM Village Brings Caribbean Culture and Regional Integration to Life on Campus
Students experienced the rich culture and diversity of the Caribbean today as the school hosted its vibrant CARICOM Village activity on campus.
The event featured informative trifold displays highlighting the history, culture, traditions, cuisine, and key facts about various CARICOM countries. Students and visitors also enjoyed a variety of Caribbean foods and drinks, creating an engaging and interactive cultural experience.
Organizers explained that the initiative was especially meaningful since Sint Maarten is not a CARICOM member state, making it sometimes challenging for students to connect with the topic of regional integration, which forms part of their curriculum.
CARICOM Village aimed to bridge that gap by making learning more relatable and hands-on, while encouraging students to gain a deeper appreciation for the unity and diversity of the Caribbean region.
The activity saw students enthusiastically exploring booths, asking questions, sampling dishes, and celebrating Caribbean culture together.
Special thanks were extended to the students, teachers, and supporters whose creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm helped make the event a success.
