NBD Completes First Cohort of Leadership Development Program

The National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) has successfully  concluded its inaugural Leadership Development Program (LEAD), an initiative designed  to strengthen the Bank’s leadership capacity and build a strong, future-ready talent   pipeline. A closing ceremony was held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, to recognize and  celebrate the achievements of the twenty-four participants who completed the program.

The LEAD Program, delivered in partnership with the Caribbean Centre for Development  Administration (CARICAD), ran from September 24, 2025, to March 3, 2026, in a hybrid  format. The initiative was strategically developed to enhance leadership skills at all levels  of the institution, prepare emerging talent for future leadership roles, and support  employees in their overall professional growth.

The twenty-four participants represented a broad cross section of the Bank, with  individuals from the Managing Director’s Office, Deputy Managing Director’s Office, Legal,  Facilities, Cards, Business Banking, Finance, Human Resource and Talent Management,  Marketing, Operations, Risk, Audit, Personal Banking, and Information Technology  Departments. Their participation underscores the Bank’s commitment to leadership  development across all key functional areas.

In her remarks at the ceremony, NBD’s Managing Director, Annette Severin-Lestrade  commended the participants for their dedication and resilience throughout the program.  She noted that the cohort demonstrated outstanding effort, insight, and confidence,  adding that the final presentations reflected growth, collaboration, and the emergence of  leadership potential within the organization.

She emphasized that leadership is reflected not in titles but in initiative, influence, and  contribution. She stated that the Bank did not simply witness the completion of a  program, but the emergence of the next generation of leaders for NBD and expressed  confidence in the future of the institution based on the strength demonstrated by the  cohort.

Severin-Lestrade also extended appreciation to CARICAD for their expert facilitation and  partnership and recognized the internal leadership of the Human Resource Unit for its  vision and commitment in bringing the program to fruition. She noted that investing in  people remains central to NBD’s long-term strategy for sustainability and success.

The Bank reaffirmed its commitment to developing a strong leadership cadre capable of  supporting organizational growth and navigating the dynamic financial landscape. This  first cohort represents an important milestone in NBD’s broader talent development  agenda.

As NBD continues to invest in its people, the institution remains committed to cultivating  leaders who will drive innovation, uphold excellence, and strengthen the Bank’s impact  for generations to come, ensuring always that it remains Your Partner, Your Bank.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
