Prime Minister Gaston Browne has placed Antigua and Barbuda on election alert, announcing that general elections are expected within the next 90 days.
Speaking on the “Browne and Browne Show” on Pointe Broadcasting Network on Saturday, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party leader called on supporters to prepare, urging candidates to begin door-to-door canvassing and encourage voter registration.
The ruling Labour Party is seeking a fourth consecutive term and is expected to face the main opposition United Progressive Party. The anticipated snap election would come approximately 18 months ahead of the constitutional deadline.
