Following a highly successful inaugural year, the charity expands its higher education initiative to empower more deserving students to achieve their academic and professional goals
SOUTH ORANGE, New Jersey (9 March 2026) – In a major demonstration of its commitment to the growth and development of Dominican youths, ADNExUS today announced an increase in its student funding pool for the 2026/27 academic year. Building on the success of its inaugural year, the organisation has committed up to US$10,000 in financial support to ambitious and deserving students pursuing tertiary education. Highly instrumental in reaching this target is the Northeast USA Wesley Chapter, which has offered to help fund the scholarship programme. Interested students are asked to complete the application form and submit supporting documents by clicking on the following link: https://forms.gle/Y5wSJAwoggLYNQfk6.
Having awarded four scholarships totalling $8,500 in its first year, ADNExUS has moved swiftly to expand the reach and value of its academic scholarship programme. The 2026/27 cycle reflects the organisation’s ambition to do more, opening the doors to higher education to an even greater number of deserving students.
The ADNExUS scholarship is designed to ease the financial burdens for highly motivated students of Dominican descent who might otherwise be unable to pursue or continue their academic studies. Applicants must demonstrate leadership skills, community involvement, and a commitment to furthering their education at accredited tertiary institutions. Successful applicants will receive funds to cover tuition, with payments made directly to their educational institutions.
“In just our second year, we are proud to be growing the ADNExUS scholarship programme and increasing the support we can offer to deserving students. We are thankful to the Northeast USA Wesley Chapter for helping to make a difference and we encourage other organisations or individuals to partner with us in developing the island’s human resources,” said Sylma Brown, the president of ADNExUS.
“Access to education should never be determined by financial circumstance alone. The ADNExUS scholarship is a vital lifeline for students who have the drive and ability to succeed but need a hand getting there. We encourage all eligible students to apply and take this opportunity to invest in their own future,” Brown added.
The scholarship includes an innovative “Pay It Forward” component, requiring recipients to contribute to ADNExUS community initiatives and fundraising efforts, ensuring the sustainability of the programme for future beneficiaries.
Applicants must be of Dominican descent, demonstrate financial need, and have already secured acceptance to an accredited tertiary institution. They can be based in Dominica or abroad. The application process requires submission of reference letters, a personal statement, and evidence of leadership and community involvement.
The deadline for applications is 29 May, with successful candidates to be notified by 26 June.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
