Roseau, Dominica — August 2025 — The Dominica Chess Federation is inviting women and girls of all ages to take part in Stage 2 of the Queen’s Gambit Challenge – Intermediate Training, organised by the International Chess Federation (FIDE). Participants from FIDE Level 3, 4, and 5 federations — including Dominica — will gain access to free, world-class coaching and mentorship.

Stage 2 begins in September 2025 and is open to players of every experience level, from absolute beginners to seasoned competitors. Whether returning from Stage 1 or joining for the first time, participants will develop strategic skills, explore advanced chess concepts, and gain valuable tournament preparation.

Key Dates:

  • Registration deadline: 6 September 2025
  • Start of classes: 20 September 2025

Format:

All sessions will be held online and led by a team of internationally recognised, highly experienced coaches. The curriculum combines strategy, advanced theory, and practical preparation, while also fostering connections among female players worldwide.

Why This Matters for Dominica:

Participants from Dominica will join peers from over 70 countries across the Caribbean, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. This shared platform encourages collaboration and inspiration, helping to prepare women to one day compete for their countries at major international events such as the Women’s Chess Olympiad.

Benefits include:

  • Free participation for all eligible women and girls
  • Access to elite coaching without leaving the island
  • Networking within an international chess community
  • A pathway towards representing Dominica at top-level competitions

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.
