Caribbean American Heritage Month & Juneteenth  Bring the Community Together to Enjoy Poetry

WHAT:            

A Poetic Tribute to Jupiter Hammon celebrating the legacy of the first Black male slave to become a published poet. The event celebrates Caribbean American National Heritage Month and commemorates Juneteenth!

The program includes performances by renowned poets, a hip-hopera, live music, a student open mic led by the teen poet laureates of Long Island, and a reception featuring Caribbean cuisine.
