Rotary Club of Dominica Donates Table Tennis Equipment to Three Rural Schools

In a significant boost to youth sports and physical education in rural Dominica, the Rotary Club of Dominica is proud to announce the donation of high-quality table tennis equipment to three primary schools: Roseau Primary School, Trafalgar Primary School, and Salybia Primary School.

The donation, made possible through the generosity of the deceased Charter President of the Rotary Club of Dominica, PDG PP Major Earle Johnson, includes professional-grade table tennis tables, paddles, and balls. PDG Earle, a long-standing advocate for youth development, gave specific instructions that the equipment be delivered to schools in rural communities, recognizing the need to bridge the gap in access to recreational and sporting resources.

“This initiative aligns with the Rotary’s commitment to community service and youth empowerment,” said Luana Laurent President of the Rotary Club of Dominica. “By investing in the health, skills, and opportunities of our children, especially those in under-resourced areas, we are investing in the future of Dominica.”

The donated equipment is expected to enrich the schools’ physical education programs, promote hand-eye coordination, encourage teamwork and discipline, and provide a fun and healthy outlet for students. The initiative also aims to introduce students to the sport of table tennis, which requires minimal space and offers lifelong benefits.

School principals have expressed their gratitude for the donation, describing it as timely and impactful. The Rotary Club of Dominica is grateful to deceased PDG Earle and continues to support initiatives that foster holistic development in young people and looks forward to further partnerships that serve and uplift communities across the island.
